As the old saying goes, "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime." Through education, we strive to develop leaders and world-changers right from within their own communities. Though the world may say they can't, we say they can.
We sponsor educational programs in proper nutrition, malnutrition prevention and care, and the importance of breast feeding. We also provide education and vocational training entrepreneurship and general business skills, financial management, computer skills, communication, and community-specific trade skills such as sewing and sustainable agriculture.
In learning sewing skills, a woman becomes equipped to start her own business and provide for the family. By learning to plant and care for a home garden, families can provide nutritious food for their children, prevent malnutrition, and generate income by selling at local markets. These are long-term solutions to extreme poverty.
